International Development Committee

The International Development Committee (IDC) provides strategic guidance and mentoring and acts as a sounding board for RANZCO. The Committee's purpose is to:

  1. Track RAPID developments and remain current with RANZCO's international development activities through participation in meetings, working groups and informational updates from RAPID staff.

  2. Participate in the face to face meeting at Congress (November) and the post annual review meeting / teleconference (May).

  3. Assist in advancing the goals and mission of RANZCO and RAPID in particular, as appropriate, through public speaking, professional work, and raising awareness to contact networks.

  4. Act as stewards of RANZCO's mission and help ensure that the work of RAPID programs appropriately advance this mission.

  5. Identify opportunities and assist RANZCO with its strategic positioning regarding international development matters.

  6. Participate in working groups of the IDC that are country specific or program specific, requiring in-country knowledge (clinical practice and working environment and structures) and technical expertise (education, disease specific) as required.

  7. Provide input into the policy development processes of governments and advocacy conducted through peak bodies in the development sector.
