Junior Doctor pre-training positions - New Zealand wide

Exciting opportunities for aspiring Ophthalmologists throughout NZ

Each year more than 20 pre-training HO, SHO, research and registrar jobs, are available across New Zealand for Junior Doctors, with recruitment typically occurring in May for a December start date.

Applications usually close in June of each year.

For details of pre-training jobs for Junior Doctors currently available in NZ please refer here. New Zealand registrars are expected to be able to manage acute and emergency ophthalmic conditions in their first year and be able to immediately start their surgical training, so prior ophthalmic experience is favourable e.g. 6-12 months of acute clinic work and hands-on supervised procedures or clinics. Experience in ophthalmology in New Zealand hospitals is given a positive weighting. Hospitals with such posts are on this link on the RANZCO website.
