Unaccredited Registrar 2024/25 - Gold Coast, QLD

An opportunity exists for a Full-Time clinical and research ophthalmology registrar (unaccredited) to join our team at the Eye Specialist Institute on the Gold Coast.

The role provides the successful candidate the opportunity to work in support of an experienced vitreoretinal specialist practitioner, providing exposure to a broad range of ophthalmic conditions and care.  The main aim of the clinical and research ophthalmology registrar (unaccredited) training position is to provide the right applicant, who is interested in pursuing a career in ophthalmology, with the practical skills to allow them to then apply the knowledge that they have learnt to go forward and successfully enter into an accredited or public SHO position with the necessary skills that will allow them to work productively and competently in that position.

The successful candidate will routinely assist in complex surgical cases in a fully accredited day surgery, continue work into active research projects, and be supported and guided in developing conference presentations.  The full-time role is for the partial year of 2024 and all of 2025 with an attractive remuneration package.  The term of the tenure is flexible. The candidate must be registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia / AHPRA and have a keen interest in a future career in Ophthalmology.
