Applications are invited for the position of full time Ophthalmology unaccredited Registrar at the Royal Darwin Hospital.

The Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) is a 345-bed hospital in the Top End of the Northern Territory and serves a diverse population including urban, rural and remote centres.

The Surgical Division has resident specialists in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT and Ophthalmology. RDH is the only tertiary referral centre in the Top End and caters for the full range of clinical conditions with an emphasis on ophthalmologists providing a broad range of care. There is a high emergency and trauma workload with interstate visiting specialists in a variety of sub specialities.

A strong focus is placed on medical education and training in a supportive working environment with the opportunity to work closely with consultants and gain valuable practical and academic experience.

Applicants must be eligible for general or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Selected candidate may often be required to travel to small communities to conduct ophthalmology clinics.
