The International Play Association (IPA) World Conference 2026 is being held in Christchurch, New Zealand, from 2–5 November 2026.
The conference explores how play contributes to children’s health and wellbeing, including the role of outdoor play, active lifestyles, and environments that support healthy childhood development.
A there is growing awareness of the importance of outdoor time in reducing the risk of childhood myopia, IPA believes there are strong connections between the work of eye health professionals and the broader movement to create more opportunities for children to play outdoors.
