RANZCO Congress

RANZCO’s Annual Scientific Congresses bring together ophthalmologists from across Australia and overseas to share and discuss the latest innovations, techniques and advances in eye health care. With topics such as glaucoma, cataract, cornea, uveitis and surgical retina featured in our packed scientific program, delegates can be sure to walk away with not only good memories but a wealth of knowledge.

Additionally, the Congress features renowned named lectures such as the Sir Norman Gregg Lecture, the Ida Mann Lecture and the Fred Hollows Lecture in which invited world-leading ophthalmologists explore important eye health issues.

RANZCO 52nd Annual Congress, Virtual, 25 February to 1 March 2022

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 52nd RANZCO Congress will now be taking place on 25 February to 1 March and will be held virtually. There has been an overwhelming desire to run the Congress as a hybrid event, however the risks are simply too high.

For Fellows and CPD customers, 28 CPD points will be attributed to those who attend the whole Congress and this will automatically be added to the 2021 CPD Diary. Please contact if you do not wish for this to occur.

If you have already registered for the Congress, an email will have been sent to you from the team at Think Business Events which will enable you to access the live virtual event and have on-demand access to all content following the Congress. If you have not yet registered, please do so now.

More information can be found on the Congress website.

Please direct all registration and program enquiries to Think Business Events at RANZCO welcomes your feedback, thoughts, ideas and concerns via

RANZCO 51st Annual Congress, Sydney, 8-12 November 2019

RANZCO celebrated its 50th year at the 2019 Congress in Sydney. The 51st Annual Congress was the biggest yet with over 2100 delegates, of whom 890 were Fellows.

Sydney hosted both the American Association for Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) and the Asia-Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society (APSPOS) meetings. Both these meetings preceded the Congress which offered delegates a unique opportunity to attend all three meetings in one convenient location.

The full conference review, with most write-ups written by A/Prof Tim Roberts, FRANZCO, is available here.
