Training Support
The Support Pathway
RANZCO recognises that trainees may experience difficulty at any stage of their training and journey to Fellowship. The College prioritises the health, welfare and interests of trainees and their right to a safe and supportive professional learning environment. We are committed to ensuring a robust and fair support structure to assist those who encounter difficulty at any stage of the training pathway.
Visit the Policies and Guidelines page to see Education and Training Policies, including RANZCO’s Trainee Performance Support Policy.
If you are in need of support and need to speak to someone, RANZCO has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that offers confidential counselling services available for Fellows, trainees, associates, staff and their immediate family members. Read more on this here.
The Mentor Program
The College mentoring program aims to provide regular support to trainees. Each new trainee is matched by the network Mentor Coordinator with a mentor whose role is to provide regular guidance and advice throughout the training program. This may cover such issues as time management, clinical problems, developing satisfactory collegial/professional relationships, etc.

Mentoring Handbook
This handbook helps to define the process and roles of all those involved in the mentor program. It also gives some helpful explanations of the behaviours and processes that make the relationships productive and rewarding for all parties.
