RANZCO supports National Eye Health Survey

“RANZCO welcomes the release by Vision 2020 Australia and the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) of the National Eye Health Survey. This survey provides essential insight into the state of eye care and eye health in Australia. It is reassuring to see that blindness and vision impairment appear to be in decline.

“RANZCO also joins Vision 2020 Australia and CERA in stressing the importance of regular eye tests to identify eye conditions at an early stage. We also fully support the call for a strategic approach to eye health which addresses the issues of maldistribution of the eye health workforce and the eye health inequalities among Indigenous communities and people in rural and remote areas.”

Dr Bradley Horsburgh
President, RANZCO
